The Alliance for Housing Affordability (AHA) is an Interlocal Agreement between the cities of Arlington, Edmonds, Everett, Granite Falls, HASCO, Lake Stevens, Lynnwood, Monroe, Marysville, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo, Snohomish, Snohomish County, Stanwood, and Woodway, to share resources and information related to housing, and housing affordability.

The need for AHA was originally studied by Snohomish County Tomorrow in 2008, and the ILA was formalized in 2013, with Granite Falls, Arlington, and Monroe joining later.  The AHA Joint Board is comprised of one voting member from each jurisdiction, usually an elected official, and a secondary delegate, usually a staff person from the planning department.

AHA’s Program Manager enacts the annual work plan on behalf of the board, focusing on data and analytics, technical support, and education to communities and councils of the member jurisdictions. A detailed picture of AHA’s member communities is provided in housing profiles, with updated data in the housing indicators dashboard.

AHA is guided by its joint board, which consists of representatives from every member jurisdiction, and meets quarterly. Our proposed work plan for 2022-2023 shows where we are headed.
